Equipments:
- Big soft box
- A bigger size stand and two smaller size
- 1000dx flash head x 3
- Light meter
- Spill Kill x 2
- White background
- A camera
- A sync lead
- Cables
- A tethered
- A computer
Directions:
- Use a white background.
- After that, place two flashes facing the white background. Apply the spill kill to the flash heads.
- Place a key light facing the background from a far distance. Use a big size soft box and a larger size stand.
- Use the light meter to test the lighting. Ask the model to stand half way in between the background and the key light. This lesson, we have tried to set the key light to f8 while the two extra flashes pointing at the background should be one stop brighter so it will be f11 and the two flashes need to be the same number.
- When using the light meter for the key light, stand beside the model to do the testing. While for the two flashes pointing at the background, stand in between the flashes and face at the background, place the light meter flat and facing the white background as well, like the photo on below.
Equipments:
- Big soft box
- Gel holders x 2
- A bigger size stand and two smaller size
- 1000dx flash head x 3
- Light meter
- Spill Kill x 2
- Grey background
- A camera
- A sync lead
- Cables
- A tethered
- A computer
- A white poly board
- Shoot with grey background.
- Set up a key light with a big soft box in a far distance from the background. Key light must be F5.6
- Set up one flash pointing the background and one flash pointing at the back of the model(Rim light). The model should stand in between the background and the key light.
- To add color to the background and the lighting, use the color gels paper and use the gel holder to secure the paper on the flash. On below I have used blue and red gels. If you want the color to appeal bolder, you can place several layers to build up the color or mix different colors together. Make sure the gel cover the cone completely.
- On below we have placed a white poly board on the left as well.
On below, we first tried to get a very blue background and I think it works well but the photo is quite dark and so we have added the red light at the back of the model and also place a white poly board on the left. I like the final results of the photos on below and the combination of the color red and blue works well together and I like the way the red color shines on the hair.
