M.A.C Advertisements

On below, I have researched and looked at M.A.C's advertisements from the past till now and it will help me to understand more about their brand style and also the way how they present themselves as a brand.

The make-up looks creative on their design and they sometimes reference popular art movements from the past such as the photo on above, it reference the 1960s make-up by the use of eyeliners and it also reference surrealism as the use of dotted patterns.

M.A.C creates collection images and sometimes advertise for a specific product. Most of the advertisement, the product photos separate with the model's image and therefore, for my advertisement looks, I will not include the product's image but I will add M.A.C's logo and their collection name. Most of M.A.C's advertisements did close-up shots as I think the reason is that M.A.C wants to show more the make-up look they did for the collection. This might be one of the things which I can think about for the layouts of the photo. 

For the outfits they used for their advertisement, M.A.C chooses outfits and styles which is suitable for the theme of the collection and also it matches the make-up look and the accessories as well and this is one of the things which I need to consider within my shoot. For the make-up look they did for advertisement, M.A.C sometimes uses bold colors which shows how their company offers people a range of colors for their cosmetics. The make-up looks creative and sometimes the theme reference historical looks and they create a new version of the historical looks. This shows how M.A.C is a creative brand and also got innovative ideas. 

Creativity - 

Post production:

M.A.C shows their creativity not only in their make-up designs, but also their post production techniques which makes their works stand out from the crowd. I have used a few example on below to show how they use editing skills to present their works in a different way compare to the other brands. Therefore, I will consider to use editing effects on my editorial and advertisement images as well.

My favourite editing effects are the two photos from above and I like the one from Rihanna where there are 2 copies of her overlapping each other and I think it looks really stylish and chic like the style of M.A.C being future forward and chic style.

On the second image, I like the way how the image looks like it's moving in two parts while the middle and the model's face remain stable to show the make-up look on her face. I think the techniques looks cool and stylish and I will consider to use the two effects from above for my editorial and advertisement images.
