Advertisement Look 2 (Night look) - Outfits, Style, Make-up and Hair Designs

Outfits:
Dress -
For the outfit of my advertisement night look, I have chosen a long dress with a deep v neckline at the front. The reason I choose this dress as I like the design at the back and I think it looks sexy, chic which suitable for the Bond Girl character. The black color emphasis the strong characteristics, charisma, sexy and chic style of the Bond Girls.

Drop Earrings -
I want the drop earrings to present a glamorous, feminine, elegant style for this night look. The design of the earrings that I have chosen on above looks simple and not too complicated which is what I want as I don't want the earrings to be more stand out than the lip color on the lips and also because it is for an lipstick advertisement.

Nails:
I am going to paint the model's nails in red color and it helps me to achieve the feminine and also sexy style.

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor #Fashion Legacy
I have chosen the lip color from M.A.C's Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor collection # Fashion Legacy for my shoot.
Design 1:
For my design 1, I have used brown tones for the eyes while it is a bit sparkling around the eyes to create the glamorous look. I realised most of the Bond Girls from the past didn't wear too much make-up around the eyes and so for my design 1, I have made the eyes look simple and not too bold colors. This also helps me to make the lip color stands out as well and won't get distracted by the eye make-up.

Design 2:
For my design 2, I have gone for a bolder shape on the eyes using brown colors as I think it helps me to stand out how M.A.C is an expert of colors and they are pigmented as well. I like the look didn't distract too much the lip color and works well together as well.

 Design 3:
For design 3, I have used the shimmery eye shadow again, but this time, I want to focus on greyish and black color on the eyes. I like how the shimmery color is not too bold as it stands out the lip color more.

Chosen Design - Design 1
Final make-up design face chart
I have chosen design 1 as my final design as the look is for a lipstick advertisement, I like how the colors on the eyes doesn't look too strong and it will not be more distracted than the lip color. The black eyeliner provides a chic look which links to the Bond Girls.

Hair Designs:
Design 1:
For design 1, I have decided to do a retro hairstyle which is inspired from 50s. It features soft curls and I want the hair to put on one side and create  a side parting for the hairstyle. This hairstyle looks elegant and by putting the hair on one side, it creates a more elegant look as well.
Design 2:
For design 2, I have decided to do a retro hairstyle inspired from 50s. It features curly hair and side parting. The hairstyle gives a vintage feeling and also looks chic and glamorous like the Bond Girls.
Design 3:
For design 3, I want to straightener the hair first and create a shinion hairstyle with a side parting at the front which gives an elegant but also chic hairstyle. At the font part of the hair, I want to use braid the hair into 3 strand braid and extend it to the back.
Chosen design-Design 1:

I have decided to use design 1 as my final design as I like the way how it looks retro and vintage which fits in the the idea of the lip product and also the Bond Girl theme that I want to go for. The hairstyle looks elegant, glamorous, retro but also looking chic and it fits in the idea of a Bond Girl look.

Advertisement Look 2 Idea for the night look shoot, Moodboard and Model Choice

Idea:
Bond Girl

http://www.wyza.com.au/media/337819/bond_girls_collage.jpg
My idea for my night look advertisement shoot comes from James Bond 007's Bond girl. As the product I've used for this advertisement is going to be the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor, I want to do the retro look of a bond girl which will look chic, feminine, mystery, glamorous and also sexy. On above, I have researched some photos from the past Bond Girls from James Bond 007's films.

Another reason why I want to create a Bond Girl look is because as M.A.C collaborates with films and create make-up collections, I want to show this idea within my shoot as well and therefore I have combined this idea together.

Model Choice: Martina Baycheva
For my advertisement look 2, Isabelle Greer is my model for the shoot but then she told me she can't make it afterwards and so I have found another model and her name is Martina Baycheva.
I have chosen Martina for my model as I think she is suitable for the Bond Girl character and she looks chic. She comes from Bulgaria and this helps me to present how M.A.C considers different people from different cultures for modelling their shoots.

Moodboard -
I have created a mood board which shows my ideas for the advertisement 2 night look. I have included M.A.C retro matte liquid lipcolor #Fashion Legacy as I want to use this color for my advertisement look. I want to paint the nails in red as well. I have included a image of the bond girl from one of the James Bond 007 films and I like the way the bond girl features a retro style, the hair, make-up and the outfits looking glamorous, chic but also sexy and elegant. I want my model to wear gold color drop earrings for the shoot as well as drop earrings is one of the trends in SS16. On the bottom right, I have included the idea of how I want the shoot to look like. I want the background for my shoot to be like that a circle at the background (light) which shows main focuses on the models and the lighting also links to the James Bond 007 theme and film as well.

Advertisement Look 2 Idea (Night Look) - Product Choice, 5 P's, Analyzing The Product

https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5643/23205579233_81c59d8ae9_b.jpg
For my advertisement look 2, I have chosen M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour as the product that I'm advertising for my shoot. On above is the advertising image done by M.A.C for the collection and it has features retro color tones and the outfits (e.g. the sunglasses and the scarfs) as well. It reminds me of the 50s as the bold shape of sunglasses, the red nails and lips and the scarf on the neck. I like the theme where the model is holding some cards and even though she does this, it doesn't distract the color on the lips and it looks retro style as the use of card games. The lighting is quite dramatic but also soft and there are shadows on the left side of the model's face which I think stands out the right side of her face and the lipstick as well. The pale skin makes the red lips stand out even more. For the typography and the design of the white patterns, it looks like it matches the patterns on the cards and I like the way how it looks like a card as well. The words are in white which makes them stand out from the background and can be seen clearly. The typography of the 'Retro Matte' looks elegant, simple and I think it suits the theme of the shoot. The reason why I choose this collection for my project is because it is the latest collection of M.A.C and also the retro theme catches my eyes, from the color on the advertisement image and to the color range of the matte liquid lipcolour.

M.A.C placed the lip product photo separately, like what they usually did. I like the way how it links to the advertisement photo which has got the model on and make connections with each other.

Product:

http://www.temptalia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/mac_retromatte001.jpg
The product has got 15 different shades and it ranges pink, orange, red and purple shades.

Price Point:

The retro matte liquid lipcolor costs £21.00 each and the price is a bit higher than other lipsticks which normally cost £15.00 to £19.00 (not in a special collection). The reason why it costs more as it is in a special collection and also the packaging, the color and the texture are unique and different to the normal lipsticks they are selling. The retro matte liquid lipcolor costs £21.00 and by comparing to the other brand such as YSL, a luxury brand, their prices
are similar as a normal YSL lipstick costs £24.00.

Packaging:
I found out that the lid of the product looks like other M.A.C lipsticks. The lid looks classic and it looks like a bullet shape which I think the packaging looks simple but also elegant. It has got M.A.C's logo on and in silver color.

The wand has a tighter top which helps for the application and also because it is in an elliptical shape which fits in the lip shape when application.
I went to M.A.C store to try out the texture of the product. The texture of the product is smooth, creamy and soft and after around 10 seconds I've applied it to the back of my hand, it dried out which give the matte finish. It looks very pigmented and the colors are bold. I have tried two color on my hand which is the color Quite the standout (orangey color), Oh lady (purple color). On below is the photo taken after I've applied them onto the back of my hand.
Promotion and Presentation:
On below is a description from M.A.C's website about the product.
"A lip colour that provides a splash of colour in a liquid-suede finish that lingers.
For those who prefer timeless glamour to all-out of flash, matte reigns supreme. M.A.C introduces a twist on this classic texture with robustly saturated shades of Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. Advertisement Look 1 (Day Look) Final Image

On above is my final image for my advertisement day look for M.A.C Modern Twist Kajal Liner. I like it as the motion blur effects creates a modern feeling and also it makes the advert look more interesting and stand out. I have make the name of the eyeliner 'MODERN TWIST KAJAL LINER' into a more three dimensional effect so to make it stand out from the background. I have make the words slightly slanted so that it matches the motion blur at the background. I have also applied M.A.C's logo on this advertisement image and I think it works well together with the name of the collection and the eyeliner as they are all white in color. As I have made the three things in white color, it gives the message to the audience that it is an eyeliner advertisement and I like the way they look bold, artistic and attractive. In this advertisement, I have used Chloe for my model and because Chloe has dark skin tone, it helps me to present the idea of M.A.C that they considers people from different cultures which links to their mantra 'All Ages, All Races and All Sexes'. I think my modern version of the tribal make-up works successfully with this advertisement and I like the final outcome of the look.

Advertisement Look 1 Editing and Layout

Editing:
I have edited the photo in the motion blur setting and I like it as it links to the way M.A.C uses editing effects to make their work stand out and also creative. The motion blur effect helps me to make more focus on the eye make-up design. The way I used this editing effects I think matches the name of the collection of being modern as it looks cool and stylish.

Experiment with the layouts (Logo and collection name):
Design 1:
For design 1, I have placed M.A.C's logo at the top right corner which a lot of M.A.C advertisement did as well. I have placed the collection name on the right in the middle and so it won't block the way to show the eyeliner design and also the space also looks more fitted to the picture. For the typography, I have created a new design for this advertisement and I have made it look three dimensional so it looks more interesting and stand out from the dark background.

Design 2:
For my design 2, I have placed the M.A.C's logo on the right hand side in the middle of the page and place the collection name underneath the logo. I have made two layers for the typography and overlap them together and change one layer's opacity down. I have put the layer with lower opacity higher and a bit more on the right and so it creates an illusion of moving text effect. This matches the background as the way I use motion blur and creates the moving effect. In some of M.A.C's advertisement, we can see that they place their collection name underneath their logo.

Design 3:
For my design 3, I have placed M.A.C's logo at the bottom of the page on the right while for the logo, I have created something quite different as I have created two layers, one with lower opacity and one on 100%. I have placed them in different position and I think the advantage of this layout is that it looks different and it stands out from the background as well.

Chosen Design: Design 2
I have chosen design 2 for my final design as I like how the layout works well with the background and it didn't look like there are many spaces left on the background. I especially like the moving text idea and the way how it matches the motion blur effects background.
