Natural Beauty Hair – Beach Hair # Techfile

In this lesson, we have learnt how to create three different types of waves.

1st method -
Equipments:
  • A paddle brush
  • A tail comb
  • Sea salt spray
  • Hair moose
  • A hair dryer
  • A diffuser
  • Sectioning clips
  • A cape
  • Hair spray
Directions:
  1. Brush the hair and make sure no tangles in the hair.
  2. Wash the model's hair. In this lesson, I have wet the doll's hair by spraying water onto the hair.
  3. Apply hair moose onto the hair.
  4. Spray some sea salt spray onto the hair to give nice texture to the hair.
  5. Make sure you have remove 80% of the water from the hair before using the diffuser. Attach the diffuser onto the hair dryer and place the hair onto the diffuser to dry. Use your hand to move the hair around the diffuser. Tell the model to put the hair upside down and dry the hair, but remember don't do this action too long as it will be comfortable for the model. Remember to dry the roots of the hair as well as we want texture in the hair.
  6. Spray some hair spray on your hand and run through the hair with you hand and fingers to create styles.
To create another style from the 1st method, I have grabbed a strand of hair from both side of the head and twist them. When they reach the middle of the head, I have twisted both strand of hair together and then secure the hair with a bobby pins. This hairstyle creates a girly look.
2nd method -
Equipments:
  • A paddle brush
  • A tail comb
  • A cape
  • Sectioning clips
  • Hair tongs
  • Heat defense spray
Directions:
  1. Brush the hair with the paddle brush and make sure no tangles in the hair.
  2. Spray some heat defense spray onto the hair.
  3. Section the hair and start from the bottom. First, grab a large section of hair and use the hair tongs to curl the hair. Place the hair tong upside down and roll the hair around the hair tong, it doesn't matter which direction you rolling the hair. Remember to leave around inch and a half hair at the bottom and don not curl it as we want to create a natural style of hair.
  4. When you have finished and the hair has cooled down, gently separate the hair and create nice, natural wavy hairstyle.
3rd method -
Equipments:
  • A paddle brush
  • A tail comb
  • A cape
  • Sectioning clips
  • Hair straightener
  • Heat defense spray
Directions:
  1. Brush the hair with the paddle brush and make sure no tangles in the hair.
  2. Spray the hear defense spray on the hair.
  3. Separate the hair into sections and start form the bottom. Grab a strand of hair and twist it. Grab another strand of hair from beside and twist it. After that twist both strands of hair together.
  4. Use a hair straightener to heat the hair and create waves on the hair. Move the hair straightener around and make sure the hair has received enough heat to create the waves.
  5. Release the twist after they are cooled down and on below, is how the hair looks like after I have released the twists.
On below, you can see the different between 2nd method (right) and the 3rd method (left).

Different Lip looks
Before
Model: Lilianna
 Natural Lip color:
  1. Apply lip balm on the lips.
  2. I have used the color #LC006 from the Kryolan lip palette and I have used my finger and apply it on the lips to create a natural lip finish. On below is the photo taken after I have applied the color on the lips.

For the second look, I have applied a reddish orange color lipstick using an angle brush.
For the third look, I have created a dark plum color gradient lips. I have applied the dark plum color only on the inner lips. I have applied some foundation around the lips so to blur out a bit of the lip shape.
For the forth look, I have applied a dark plum red lipstick onto the lips using a flat brush which helps me to line the edges of the lips. I have applied concealer on the edges of the lips so to stand out the lip shape.
For the fifth look, first, I have used a red lip liner to line out the lip shape. Then, I have applied a dark plum red matte lipstick on the lips using a lip brush.
For the sixth look, I have applied a clear lip gloss on top of the lip look which I have just done on the previous look. The look create a very elegant and also glamorous style.
For the seventh look, first, I have applied the red lipstick on the lips. After that, I have smudged the color on the side to create a messy red lip look.
For the eighth look, I have applied the silver color on my lips to create a metallic lip look.
For the ninth look, I have applied a plum red color lip tint on the inner lips and blend the color out with my finger to create the gradient lip look. I have used concealer to blur out the lip shapes which helps to create a soft lip look.
For the tenth look, I have continued with the lip look from the ninth look. I have added a darker plum red color at the corner of the lips and leaving the middle of the lips a lighter shade.
For the eleventh look, I have created an ombre lip look. I have continued the process from the tenth look. I have used the black MAC Lip mix and applied it on the corner of the lips and blend the color out. I have also lined the lips with the black color and blend the color out as well so to stand out the lip shape. The ombre lip look helps to create lighter color in the middle of the lips and make the lips appeal fuller.

Catwalk Look 2 (Angela Missoni's S/S 2016) Ideas, Model Choices, Outfits, Make-up and Hair Designs

Model Choice:
Model: Anna Maria Stavrou
I have asked Anna as my model for the catwalk look 2 shoot as I think she is good at posing, slim and tall like the models on the catwalk. The style of this shoot is a summery look and I like the way how her skin tone has got a bit of yellowish tone which I think will suit for a summery look and matches the theme for my shoot. Missoni's catwalk show features international models and as Anna comes from Greece and it will match the catwalk show as well.

Outfit:
For the outfit, I have found a top from Topshop which has got the features from Missoni's S/S 2016 collection. The reason why I said this is because compare to the images on below, the deep v neckline, the thin strap, the use of line patterns, the similar fabric texture and the way the line patterns go from different directions which matches the characteristics of the collection. The use of black and white color is also from the catwalk as well.

Tribal Makeup - As Missoni's catwalk reference tribal prints on the garments, I have decided to design make-up which is inspired from tribal make-up. In Missoni's catwalk, the bright colors on the eyes is one of the examples where it reference tribal make-up as the use of painted colors on the eyes.

Tribes make-up:
Tribes uses a lot of line patterns and dot patterns on their make-up and they uses colors such as white, bright yellow and earth tone red color, etc on their face and body. There are 15 tribes in total and the tribes shares the idea of using symmetry and geometric shapes on their make-up designs. They painted each others make-up and it shows this idea of mirroring ideas as well. On below, I have researched photos of the tribes make-up to give me some inspirations for my designs.

Design 1:

For my design 1, I have combined the idea of tribes makeup with one of the SS16 makeup trends, eye mask makeup. I have used orange and white color and also the dotted patterns and shapes to link to the tribes make-up which also helps me to link to Missoni's collection. I have used a nude color lips as I want to link to the SS16 trend and also I want the eye make-up to stand out more. I want to create dewy skin for the look as it is one of the trend in SS16 and also because Missoni's collection links to summery theme and seaside.

Design 2:
For my design 2, I have taken inspirations from the tribes makeup where they painted lines and dots on their face. The reason I create a T design on the eyes is that I want to show two SS16 trends, messy applied eye shadows and bold colors on the eyes. I want to create dewy skin for the look as it is one of the trend in SS16 and also because Missoni's collection links to summery theme and seaside. I have used a pale pink color as I want to focus on the eye make-up more.

Design 3:
For design 3, I have taken inspirations from the tribes makeup as the use of lines and bright yellow colors. I want to create dewy skin for the look as it is one of the trend in SS16 and also because Missoni's collection links to summery theme and seaside. The gloss on the lips also links to the trend this year as well. I have added a bit of pink blush on the cheeks to give a more fresh look.

Chosen Design: Design 3
Final design face chart
I have chosen design 3 as my final design for my catwalk look 2 as I like the pinched lashes idea to show the wet look and also the bright yellow links to the tribes make-up but in a modern way.

Hair designs:
Design 1:
For Design 1, I want to use beach waves hairstyle for the hairstyle and a center parting is used as center parting is one of the hair trends in SS16. I will spray the hair with the sea salt spray first before curling the hair to give more texture to the hair. After curling the hair, use your finger to run through the hair and create a bit of volume and messiness.

Design 2:
For Design 2, I want to use two 3 strand brands at the front hanging down at the front and then apply wet look gel and sleek the hair back. At the back of the hair, I have used a low ponytail and then twist the ponytail to create some patterns on the hair. Secure the hair with hair bobble and at the end part of the hair, apply the wet look hair gel to make the hair look pointy and wet. I don't want to make the hair too wet and just in between wet and dry hair.

Design 3:
For design 3, I want to use pigtails and french braids on two side. The pigtail and braids are two of the hair trends in SS2016. I want to use a middle parting as well which also fits in the trend this year. I want to use wet look hair gel to make the hair clean and tidy. I want to make a very clean parting at the back.

Chosen Design: Design 2
I have chosen design 2 as my final design as I like how the two plaits at the front gives a summery look and the wet look hair gel helps me to create the hair texture in between wet and dry. I also like the patterns from the ponytail at the back which makes the design more interesting.
